Church Summary

Southside Church of Christ is a independent, non-denominational Christian Church, in Lebanon Oregon. Lebanon is located within the beautiful Mid-Willamette Valley area and is largely an agricultural community with a recent boom in the medical industry with the addition of Western University of Health Sciences, a college that specializes in Osteopathic Medicine. The foothills of the Cascade Mountains spring up just a few miles east of town, providing many outdoor activities year-round. The South Santiam River flows through town, lending itself to water sports of all kinds whether upon the river itself, or on Foster & Green Peter reservoirs a short distance upstream.

Southside was founded in 1954 and has been a very stable body of believers with a positive reputation within the community since its beginning. The Church of Christ is a part of what is known as the Restoration Movement which began during the Second Great Awakening in the United States in the late 1700’s/early 1800’s.

Southside is an elder lead congregation with a team-based approach to leadership. The pastoral staff and eldership work in close connection to oversee the ministry and shepherding needs of the body. The church family is a multi-generational mix of young and old. Worship services are a blend of contemporary praise and worship and traditional hymns, led in such a way to bring honor and glory to the Heavenly Father first and foremost. Typically, there are 2 Sunday morning services, during COVID that has been expanded to 3 Sunday services to allow appropriate social distancing and spacing for families in the worship building.

Southside Church of Christ exists to glorify God by making and maturing Biblical disciples.
